2012 Age Group Prizegiving

Huge congratulations to our 2012 age group team on an incredible season! Allan Reid welcomed everyone to the prizegiving at the Campbeltown Stronvarr Bowling Club, praising the team’s hard work and dedication throughout the season.

A special mention to the 2012 team for being the only one in the Argyll and Islands Youth Football League to complete all their fixtures.

A huge thank you to our sponsors, the Bowling Club for the venue and the ladies behind the bar, Cara Browning, Lorna Reid, Claire Mitchell, Rhys Blair, and the committee for their support behind the scenes, the referees over the season, Cafe Blue Bell for a lovely buffet, Kenny Craig for his professionalism in photographs.

Chairman Rhys Blair also took to the stage to announce the nominations for the prestigious Willie Paterson award: Kyle McC, Emma J, Nathan T, Robert R, Andrew M, Evan H, and Niamh McS

The Willie Paterson award recognises players who embody the following values:

Always works hard to develop and play to the best of their ability
Plays fairly with sportsmanship and respect
Respects their teammates, opposition, and officials
Plays by the rules and always respects the referee
Values the opposition by playing hard and fair
Leads by example both on and off the pitch
Listens and responds to coaches’ advice

And a special note that the Willie Paterson award is across all our 11-a-side teams, with nominations including players from the 2011 and 2012 age groups.

The winner will be announced at the 2011 prizegiving on Friday, 15th August.
